Ku De Ta occupies a long beachfront plot on Jalan Kayu Aya and reads as three venues in one: a sunken restaurant at the back, a central bar with poolside lounge seating, and a row of daybeds stretching onto the sand. The layout rewards patience. Early arrivals can grab a bar stool facing the water for the price of a drink, while later guests cycle through daybeds on minimum-spend contracts. Staff work the floor in linen uniforms and handle turnover without rushing anyone along, a detail that separates Ku De Ta from newer venues down the street.
The sunset ritual is the main event. From around 17:30 the crowd swells, DJs push the tempo into Balearic and tropical house, and servers move between daybeds carrying ice buckets and cocktail jugs. The kitchen sends out small plates and full mains until 23:00, so dinner rolls into the late session without a break. On Friday and Saturday nights the music holds through midnight with a denser, house-leaning set. Midweek afternoons are quieter and often more enjoyable for conversation, with the same views at lower prices.
Compared to Potato Head next door, Ku De Ta skews older and less posed for social media, though both pull a similar tourist-expat mix. La Plancha a short walk south offers a bean-bag-on-sand alternative at a quarter of the price, but the service, drinks, and view from Ku De Ta justify the gap for a set-piece evening.
Book sunset daybeds through the website at least two days ahead in high season. If you want to skip the minimum spend, arrive around 16:00 and claim bar seating facing the ocean. The cocktail list rewards exploration, and the rum-based signatures outperform the gin ones. Cards work throughout; tipping is appreciated but not expected.

Getting There
Roughly 25 minutes by GoJek or Bluebird taxi from Ngurah Rai airport in light traffic, longer in the evening rush. From central Seminyak the venue is a ten-minute walk along Jalan Kayu Aya. Valet parking is available for scooters and cars at the front gate.
