TIIGO Beach Club

Nongsa, Batam

TIIGO Beach Club sits on the waterfront at Montigo Resorts in the Nongsa area, about 30 minutes from central Batam and roughly the same distance from Nongsapura Ferry Terminal. The venue combines a pool deck, a wood-fired pizza kitchen, a long bar, and an open-air karaoke setup that runs on Friday and Saturday evenings. Weekend crowds draw a mix of resort guests from Singapore and Jakarta plus day visitors staying elsewhere who drive in for the sunset. The layout favors groups: large tables line the pool edge, daybeds face the Strait, and a covered pavilion shelters the bar when rain sweeps across Nongsa. Compared to the KTV-heavy Nagoya scene, TIIGO reads as a resort lifestyle spot rather than adult nightlife, but the late-night karaoke and relaxed pour sizes give it a place on Batam's weekend circuit for visitors who want a cleaner atmosphere.

Insider Tip

Reserve a poolside daybed ahead of Saturday afternoon; the best spots book out by 14:00 on busy weekends. Arrive by 17:30 to catch sunset over the Strait before the dinner crowd fills the bar. Ask staff to pair the karaoke booking with a food minimum; it usually unlocks a cheaper room rate.

Full Review

TIIGO Beach Club represents the soft end of Batam's nightlife spectrum. The venue occupies a plot inside Montigo Resorts with a wooden deck running along the pool, a long bar built from weathered teak, and daybeds that look straight across the Strait toward the lights of Singapore. Ferries passing in the distance are part of the backdrop. Arrival from central Batam takes close to 40 minutes by GoJek or taxi, so most visitors either stay at Montigo or combine the trip with a full afternoon at the pool.

The food program is stronger than most beach bars in Batam. Pizzas come out of a wood-fired oven near the bar, and the kitchen keeps dedicated Italian, Indonesian, and Western sections on the menu. Drinks lean toward tropical cocktails and imported wines, with Bintang and Heineken available for budget-conscious tables. Pricing runs higher than Nagoya bars but stays under what the same drinks cost in Singapore, which is part of the draw for weekend ferry arrivals.

Karaoke sets the venue apart from other resort bars on the island. A small partitioned section near the kitchen converts into an open karaoke space on Friday and Saturday nights, with a song library that skews toward Indonesian pop, Cantopop, and English chart tracks. Unlike the KTV venues in Nagoya, the singing here happens in full view of other guests, and there are no hostess services. The energy stays family-friendly through midnight before a small late crowd lingers closer to 01:00.

Safety is not a concern at Nongsa's gated resort zone, but the isolation means transport becomes difficult after 23:00. Book a GoJek or a resort driver before leaving, and carry small IDR bills for the return trip. Compared with Tiger Beach Club further down at Nuvasa Bay, TIIGO feels more polished and food-focused, while Tiger skews toward casual happy hour groups.

The Neighborhood

TIIGO sits inside the Montigo Resorts compound on Nongsa's northern coast, about 25 kilometers from Nagoya and 10 kilometers from Hang Nadim Airport. The surrounding area is gated beach resorts and private villas, so there is no walkable bar strip nearby.

Getting There

No metro serves Batam. From Batam Centre or Harbour Bay ferry terminals, a GoJek or Grab ride to Montigo Resorts runs 30 to 45 minutes and costs 120000 to 180000 IDR. From Hang Nadim Airport the trip is 20 minutes at similar pricing. A separate Nongsapura Ferry Terminal connects directly to Tanah Merah in Singapore, with Montigo about five minutes inland by resort shuttle.
