Lost in Asia

Perimeter Road, Angeles City

Lost in Asia is an expat-friendly bar and restaurant on Perimeter Road that positions itself as a comfortable hangout rather than a traditional entertainment venue. The bar occupies a two-story building with a restaurant on the ground floor serving Western and Filipino food, and a bar area upstairs with pool tables, dart boards, and multiple sports screens. The upstairs capacity is around 40 people. GROs are available, but they function more like companions for conversation than performers. There is no stage and no dance shows. The food is a genuine draw; the menu includes burgers, fish and chips, sisig, and a few Thai dishes, all priced between 150 and 300 PHP. Beer costs 70 PHP for a San Miguel and 150 PHP for imports. Lady drinks are 200 PHP. The bar fine is 2,000 to 2,500 PHP. Lost in Asia works well as a dinner spot before a night on the bars, or as a relaxed alternative for visitors who prefer conversation and pool over the go-go bar format.

Full Review

Lost in Asia fills a gap on Perimeter Road that pure entertainment venues cannot. The ground floor restaurant serves food that is actually worth eating, which is not something you can say about most bars in the area. The burger I had was thick, properly cooked, and served with decent fries for 220 PHP. The sisig was crispy and well-seasoned.

Upstairs, the bar area has a proper pub feel. Two pool tables sit in the center, surrounded by high tables and a few booths. Three screens show different sports simultaneously. On the evening I visited, one showed English Premier League football, another had NBA basketball, and the third had some Australian rugby. The crowd was split between people eating dinner and expats settling in for an evening of pool and beer.

GROs were present but not pushy. Two women sat with other customers when I arrived, chatting and laughing over beers. The dynamic was social rather than performative. Lady drinks at 200 PHP are reasonable, and the bar fine of 2,000 to 2,500 PHP reflects the Perimeter Road budget standard.

Lost in Asia is where I would start an evening in the Perimeter Road area. Have dinner, play some pool, watch a match, and then decide whether to move on to the go-go bars or stay put. It works both ways.
