Voodoo

Walking Street, Angeles City

Voodoo is a smaller go-go bar on Walking Street that trades the standard bright-neon aesthetic for a darker, moodier interior. The bar uses deep purple and red lighting, black walls, and minimal decoration to create an atmosphere that feels more like a lounge than a typical Angeles City go-go bar. The space seats about 35 people with a mix of bar stools and low couches. The stage is compact, accommodating one or two dancers at a time. The roster runs 12 to 18 women on busy nights. There is no cover charge. Voodoo draws visitors who find the larger bars too loud or too bright, offering a quieter alternative where conversation is possible without shouting. The dancer roster tends to be younger than at some veteran bars, which is part of the bar's appeal to its regular clientele. Pricing is mid-range: beer at 80 PHP, lady drinks at 280 PHP, and bar fines at 2,800 to 3,500 PHP.

Insider Tip

The low lighting makes Voodoo one of the more atmospheric bars on Walking Street. The couch seating near the back offers a more relaxed experience than the bar stools up front. The bar is popular with Korean visitors, particularly on weekends.

Full Review

Voodoo stands out on Walking Street precisely because it does not try to out-loud or out-light its neighbors. Stepping inside from the neon chaos of the strip feels like entering a different world. The deep purple lighting, black walls, and low couches create an atmosphere closer to a cocktail lounge than a go-go bar.

The stage is small, with one or two dancers performing at a time in the shifting colored lights. The performances are slower and more sensual than the high-energy choreography at the bigger bars. The music matches: R&B and slow pop at a volume that allows normal conversation. This alone sets Voodoo apart from venues where you need to shout to be heard.

On a Saturday night, the bar was about half full, maybe 18 people. The crowd was mixed Korean and Western, leaning slightly Korean. The couch seating in the back was occupied by two groups who seemed to be regulars, chatting easily with GROs who joined their tables.

Pricing is standard mid-range for Walking Street. Beer at 80 PHP and lady drinks at 280 PHP will not surprise anyone familiar with the strip. The bar fine of 2,800 to 3,500 PHP is competitive. Service was attentive without being aggressive. The mamasan checked in once to ask if I wanted company but did not push when I said I was just having a beer. Voodoo is a good pick for visitors who want the Walking Street experience in a more subdued package.

The Neighborhood

Voodoo is on Walking Street among the other go-go bars and nightclubs. The darker facade is subtle compared to the neon-heavy signs of neighboring venues.
